Keep it Simple – Do not try to get too fancy with fruit salad. You really want to separate the pieces of fruit to shine. Stick to no more than five different types of fruits and keep the sauce as well.
Use Seasonal Fruits – When you are choosing the fruit which you are going to use in the salad, stick to those fruits that are in season and pick up the pieces that look fresh and tasty. The only exception would be if you are using dried or canned fruit. They can make a sweet accent to your fruit salad, but most of the fruit you use should be fresh.
